Georgia Power Corporate Relations Representative Monique Carter has been named to the United Way of Greater Atlanta’s African American Partnership (AAP) Cabinet.

Launched in 2000, the AAP is a group of donors with shared affinities for philanthropy, leadership, and service that work together to increase the number of African American leadership donors to the United Way of Greater Atlanta. In the partnership’s first five years, AAP realized a 75% membership increase because of partnerships with previously untouched groups, including African American small business owners.

Carter began her career at Georgia Power in 2004 as an administrative assistant before joining the Supplier Diversity team as a Supplier Diversity Consultant. She joined the Corporate Relations team in late 2020. In her role, she works with internal and external partners to support the company’s diverse partners and stakeholder organizations, actively supporting the state’s communities, promoting business initiatives, and educating key civic and community leaders of influence.
