Tuesday, August 24th, 2021

The Georgia Scholastic Esports Foundation (GSEF) and Make-A-Wish Foundation have recently formed a partnership that will help the ‘Kids for Wish Kids’ program. Managed by kids For Wish Kids, the program involves students, schools and youth organizations in activities that encourage community service, leadership, volunteerism and teamwork.

GSEF’s mission is to provide high quality educational opportunities to Georgia students through esports, helping them to acquire critical communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills needed to thrive in work and in life. GSEF and Make-A-Wish Foundation share a common goal: to empower kids.

“We’re trying to help kids become good sports and to help them achieve a dream,” says Wes Byrd, co-founder of GSEF. “What better way is there than to give kids an opportunity to help other kids?”

GSEF participating schools will encourage esports participants to get involved with the Kids for Wish Kids program.

“To watch students use their love of esports and gaming to give back to kids in their community battling critical illnesses is truly heartwarming,” says Tim Earley, CEO Make-A-Wish Georgia. “We appreciate Georgia Scholastic Esports Foundation’s partnership in sharing our mission to grant wishes with students across the state.”
