Hyperion Bank has named Asif Mujtaba as Senior Vice President. He will be based out of the bank’s office in Piedmont Center in Buckhead, and service customers across the Metro area.

“Asif has such an accomplished banking career,” says Lou DeCesare, President & COO of Hyperion. "In addition to his global experience with different cultures and economies, he has the proven ability to win and retain business in a very challenging and competitive market.”

Mujtaba received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Karachi, as well as attending the Institute of Chartered Accountants in London. After 11 years in the United Kingdom, he moved to Atlanta in 1981.

“Because we have worked together before, I know firsthand just how fortunate we are to have Asif as part of Team Hyperion,” says Charles B. (Charlie) Crawford, Jr., CEO and Chairman of Hyperion. “His customers appreciate that he is accessible to them, making himself available whenever possible, and that he is adept at putting himself in their shoes.”

Mujtaba lives in the Northlake area with his wife Sameen, who teaches high school French and is a private tutor. Their son Nader is a junior at Washington University in St. Louis. Their daughter Aalia and 13-year-old grandson Damien also reside in Atlanta.

“I enjoy getting to know customers so I can offer them flexible, tailored banking solutions,” Mujtaba says, noting that that is one of the reasons he loves the community banking model. “I’m able to help customers with everything from commercial or residential lending to deposit products, credit products, specialized services, treasury management services and more.”

Outside of work, Mujtaba enjoys hiking, photography and traveling, and is currently training for the Peachtree Road Race (for 2022). He serves on the Board of Our House, a non-profit providing temporary shelter for homeless families, early childhood education and employment training services.
