After nearly two decades of working for some of the world’s most prominent news networks, Ted Metzger has joined Jackson Spalding – one of the nation’s leading PR and marketing agencies. Based in Atlanta, Metzger will lead strategic initiatives for clients in the areas of national earned media, issues management and executive coaching.

“Ted’s deep expertise in producing shows at the top-tier news organizations of CNN, BBC and PBS is invaluable to our clients and our team,” said Trudy Kremer, a partner at Jackson Spalding. “He knows firsthand the rapidly changing media landscape and knows where and how our clients should be building and protecting their brands with earned media.”

Metzger brings a wealth of national and international news experience to his new role, joining a team of PR professionals with tenures spanning from NBC Nightly News to NPR. Most recently, he served as executive producer of CNN’s At This Hour with Kate Bolduan. Before that, he supervised news and business programming for a global audience at CNN International and BBC News. He also spent many years at CNN’s Washington Bureau, producing Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer and State of the Union with John King, and covering the White House during the Obama administration. He began his career at PBS NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.

“There is a tremendous amount of change right now in the media industry,” said Metzger. “Even the biggest outlets are exploring new ways to reach news consumers. I am excited to join Jackson Spalding during such a dynamic time, and I look forward to helping clients continue to navigate this emerging landscape.”
