Kim Greene to Serve as American Heart Association’s 2022 Atlanta Go Red for Women Luncheon Chair
Wednesday, October 20th, 2021
The American Heart Association is excited to announce that Kim Greene, president and chief executive officer of Southern Company Gas, will serve as the chair of the 2022 Atlanta Go Red for Women Luncheon. Like many of AHA’s volunteers, Kim’s passion for our mission stems from her personal experience of familial loss due to heart disease and other heart-related issues. She is driven to make an impact in this critical area through her work with the American Heart Association and the Go Red for Women movement.
The annual event is designed to raise awareness of the leading cause of death in women: cardiovascular disease. While nearly 80 percent of cardiac events may be prevented, cardiovascular diseases continue to be a woman’s greatest health threat. One in three women is living with some form of cardiovascular disease and it kills one woman about every 80 seconds, and we’re working to change that.
The health and safety of our volunteers and guests is our number one priority. We are closely monitoring guidance from the CDC and state and local health officials as we work to plan the Luncheon.
