Leading mattress manufacturer, Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC (SSB), is celebrating 25-years at its 125,000 square-foot facility at 6010 Horizon West Parkway in Grovetown, Georgia. The facility employs over 150 people and is home to leading mattress brands including Serta iComfort®, iComfort®Hybrid, Serta Perfect Sleeper® and Serta® EZ Tote lines.

“As we celebrate this milestone of 25 years in Grovetown, we reflect on the dedication of our local team members that have contributed to the growth of this plant and the overall success of SSB over the past 25 years,” said Rory O’Kane, Vice President of Operations for the Southeast at SSB. “As one of the top producing Serta plants in the U.S., it’s only fitting that this anniversary aligns with the 90^th anniversary of the Serta brand.”

“It’s great to celebrate 25 years of Serta Simmons Bedding creating manufacturing jobs for hardworking Georgians in the Central Savannah River Area,” said Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp. “I look forward to celebrating more milestones with this Georgia-based company.”

After 25 years of assembling mattresses and foundations in Grovetown, the company recently announced its investment in a new warehouse to support its increased capacity and production needs. As part of the expansion, SSB expects to add additional jobs in general production, receiving and transportation to its Grovetown plant and warehouse.

Serta Simmons Bedding has 26 additional plants across North America, including a location in Waycross, Georgia. The Waycross facility, which was established in 2004, produces Beautyrest Silver®, Beautyrest Black®, Beautyrest® Hybrid and Beautyrest Harmony Lux® lines.

Columbia County Commission Chairman Doug Duncan stated, “We congratulate Serta Simmons Bedding on their 25th Anniversary and expansion, and thank them for their investment in the community over the past twenty-five years. They have been an integral piece of building and maintaining the manufacturing industry in Columbia County and provided many employment opportunities for our residents. We wish them many more successful years.”

A celebration of the 25^th anniversary will be held on Friday, October 1, at the Grovetown plant. Speakers include: SSB representatives, Rory O’Kane and Mike Carlson.
