County Looks for More Input on Gwinnett Place Mall

Tuesday, November 9th, 2021

Gwinnett County invites you to bring together a small group of neighbors, friends, family and colleagues for a conversation to discuss the future of Gwinnett Place Mall on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The County’s Meetings-in-a-Box is a community engagement opportunity to get input about the equitable redevelopment process for the Gwinnett Place Mall site in Duluth.  The event will take place at Berkmar High School in Lilburn from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Dinner will be provided and participants are encouraged to register.

“For this particular project, we’re doing redevelopment differently. This will not be a top-down approach,” said Board Chairwoman Nicole Hendrickson. “We are the most diverse county in the state of Georgia and it’s important to me and to our board that we involve our diverse stakeholders in driving this process.”

Community meetings can happen conveniently on-demand, in-person or virtually. In fact, District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden will host a meeting this Saturday, Nov. 6.

A Meetings-in-a-Box toolkit is available on ReclaimGwinnettPlaceMall.com. The kit contains a script and questions to help facilitate the discussion. The time commitment should be no more than one hour and 15 minutes, plus time to plan and prepare. Each group should have about eight to 12 participants and a designated notetaker.

Feedback from the Meetings-In-A-Box should also be sent to ReclaimGwinnettPlaceMall.com by Friday, Nov. 12.
