Kroger’s Atlanta Division announced that its customers and associates raised more than $100,000 for local Feeding America food banks through a fundraising campaign to “Help End Hunger Here.”

One hundred percent each donation raised through the campaign went directly to the local Feeding America food bank. In metro Atlanta, the Atlanta Community Food Bank received more than $84,000.

“We would like to thank our customers and associates for their enthusiastic commitment to ending hunger in our communities,” said Felix Turner, manager of corporate affairs for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “We are very excited to make this announcement. With the holiday season upon us, every dollar we raise can help make a difference in the lives of those in need.”

Kroger’s Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation partnered with Feeding America on the campaign. From September 1 through September 30, Kroger customers rounded up their purchase with 100% of their donations going directly to the local Feeding America foodbank affiliate.

Nationwide, Kroger has directed a record one-year total of 640 million meals to fight food insecurity and hunger in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, Kroger associates have rescued 90 million pounds of wholesome food from stores, food processing plants and distribution centers.
