Atlanta Is the 6th Best US Metro for Advertisers and Marketers

  • Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta claims the sixth place in our top 15 US metros with over 1 million inhabitants, with 27,890 employees here working in advertising and marketing.

  • Metro Atlanta boasts the third-highest increase (13%) in the advertising wage among the top 15 metros since 2015, after Chicago and Washington DC. The annual salary currently rests at an average of $93,175.

  • To seal the deal, the area is also the second most affordable among our top 15 metros, when looking at its Regional Price Parity index of 97.9. 

When choosing a place to live and work from, personal preference and community are important factors in our decision. But so are opportunities, especially those in terms of salary and job openings. While we can’t really generalize the former, we attempted to gauge the latter when it comes to the advertising and marketingindustry in the U.S.  

Creatopy set out to determine which U.S. metro areas are the most attractive for those working in the industry. In order to rank them, we attributed scores to each metro based on seven metrics:

  1. The current number of employees in advertising and marketing positions

  2. The five-year trend for the number of workers in the industry

  3. The share of industry jobs out of all jobs in the metro

  4. The average annual wage for advertising and marketing jobs

  5. The five-year trend for the average annual wage

  6. Regional price parity

  7. Internet speed
