Coro Realty has sold 05 Buckhead, Atlanta’s first true luxury high-rise rental community, featuring several innovations new to the market at the time, including a roof top amenity deck, 24/7 hotel-level concierge services and two-story penthouses. 

Coro delivered the 20-story apartment building in 2009, as the initial residential component of the 12-plus acre mixed-use project, Buckhead Place, which is located at the intersection of Piedmont Road and Peachtree Road in the heart of Buckhead. 

05 Buckhead targeted affluent, discerning residents seeking privacy, services and an upscale living environment.

“We were proud to deliver a trophy asset that at the time was unlike anything else in the Southeast,” said John W. Lundeen III, Managing Partner, Coro Realty. “The service levels and amenities of the luxury hotels in Buckhead inspired us to build 05 Buckhead.” 

Lundeen and his late business partner, Joachim Herz, began assembling Buckhead Place in the 1980s and redeveloped the property over time. Today, it includes 135,000 square feet of retail anchored by Marshall’s and LA Fitness, a six-story parking garage that also contains the recently opened Amalfi Pizza and Red Phone Booth, two hotels, and O5 Buckhead. A second residential project is planned by Atlanta developer Wood Partners, with construction scheduled to commence in 2022.

Comprised of 155 units, 05 Buckhead has studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom plans with 9’ 6" ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, gourmet kitchen and wood Shaker-style cabinetry. Expansive, glass rail balconies further enhance each residence.

Notably ahead of the curve is the rooftop club room on the 20th floor with a built-in bar area, outdoor swimming pool and sun deck, outdoor theatre and a terrace featuring spectacular views of the Atlanta skyline. 

Coro Realty will redeploy the proceeds into multiple smaller investments that will enable it to continue opportunistic acquisition and development strategies.
