Council for Quality Growth Announces its 2022 Board of Directors

The Council for Quality Growth formally announces its 2022 Board of Directors and Officers. The 2022 Board was elected at the Council’s 36th Annual Meeting held December 17, 2021. The Council welcomed its new leadership, including the new 2022 Chairman of the Board, Albert G. Edwards, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Environmental Risk Management, LLC (CERM). Edwards is the 35th Chairman and the first African American Chairman of the Council for Quality Growth. Edwards stated his year of Chairmanship will focus on workforce development and member engagement. “While our core work is the man-made and natural environments,” Edwards stated, “I want to do more to leverage our partnerships with people, which I see as the human environment.” Growing the Council’s Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI) program is another one of Edwards’ priorities during his tenure. “I am very excited to continue working with an organization that values the contribution of younger people,” he said. Edwards has served on the Council’s Board of Directors since 2016 and as a Board Officer since 2019. “Al has been a tremendous supporter of the Council, and we are excited to bring his leadership to the table,” said Michael Paris, President & CEO of the Council for Quality Growth.

The 2022 Officers of the Board are Rob Ross of Kimley-Horn as Vice Chair, Ellen Smith of Parker Poe as Secretary, and Sally Riker of Lowe Engineers as Treasurer. Doug Hooker, Executive Director of the Atlanta Regional Commission, was newly appointed as an ex-officio member of the Council’s Board of Directors. Jodi Selvey, Senior Vice President and Principal of Colliers International, will serve a one-year appointment on the Council’s Board as the Immediate Past President of the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors (ACBR). Darryl Edler, Associate Project Manager at CERM, was elected Chairman of theCouncil’s ELI Board of Directors for 2022-2023. He will serve a two-year appointment to the Council’s Board during his tenure as ELI Chair. Outgoing 2021 Chairman of the Board, Doug Jenkins, Georgia Power’s Vice President West Region, will continue to serve as Immediate Past Chair.

  • Ashley Jenkins, Director of Government Affairs, Gas South

  • Sarah-Elizabeth Langford, Interim Executive Director, DAFC

  • Tim Perry, Managing Partner, North American Properties

  • Fabricio Ponce, Managing Director, VHB

  • Sara Ray, President & CEO, Douglas Chamber of Commerce

  • Kate Triplett, Engineer, Kimley-Horn

  • Deon Tucker, Regional Director, Georgia Power

  • James Willmer, Principal, Willmer Engineering

Atlanta’s new Mayor, Andre Dickens, provided welcome remarks before the vote, stating he “looks forward to regional collaboration during his term,” and Chris Womack, Chairman, President, and CEO of Georgia Power delivered the keynote address. He called for Atlanta's development industry to continue their efforts and initiatives towards a more sustainable future, and he spoke of energy diversification, technology advancements, and the attraction they bring to Atlanta.
