Mark Spain Real Estate made it an unforgettable Christmas for one metro Atlanta family during its sixth year contributing to Atlanta Christian radio station 104.7 and the Fish Christmas Wish program. In partnership with its Mark Spain Foundation, the Atlanta-based, independent real estate brokerage granted its biggest Fish Wish yet to an Auburn, Ga. family.
Anna is a single mother with a 6-year-old autistic daughter, Rosalie, and 9-year-old son, Jude. The family relocated here from Texas two years ago. Anna has struggled to find work in photography after relocating during the Covid-19 Pandemic and having her photography equipment stolen during the move. Anna and her children are living with a life-long friend, surviving on random house-hold jobs provided by friends from her church. She was nominated for a Fish Wish by her sister, Danielle.
In early December, with the help of Fish 104.7 radio host Parks Stamper, Mark Spain spoke to Anna on the air to announce that Mark Spain Real Estate would be granting the family’s Fish Christmas Wish.
Mark Spain, who is the father of five children, was eager to make this Christmas brighter for Rosalie and Jude. He surprised Anna and her family with a carload of gifts at their home on December 16, 2021.
Mark Spain Real Estate wanted to gift the family a special surprise to make it truly a Christmas to remember. Two Disney characters were on hand to help Mark announce the family was receiving an all-expense paid trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fl. In total, Mark Spain Real Estate granted the 2021 Fish Christmas Wish valued at approximately $15,000. Check out the full video of their story and the gift presentation here.
“This family has been through so much and we wanted to make their Christmas a little brighter and provide them with opportunities and gifts that would really set them up for success in 2022,” explained Chairman and CEO Mark Spain. “One of our core values is to lead with a servant’s heart. It is important to all of us at Mark Spain Real Estate that we make a difference in the communities we serve. And there is no better time to do this than at Christmas.”
The children received new iPads, clothes, shoes, jackets, toys and swim lessons, among other things. Anna received new camera equipment, a phone, clothes, several gift cards, a clothing shopping spree and an interview with one of the nation’s largest residential real estate photography companies. In addition to the Disney World trip, Mark Spain Real Estate is setting the family up with three months’ rent and a start-up utility budget.
The 104.7 The Fish radio station has been granting Christmas wishes since the program began in 2006. This marks its 16th holiday season and families have received hundreds of thousands of dollars in granted wishes since the program’s inception.
“As a company, we are extremely blessed to be able to grant Christmas Wishes every year. It was wonderful meeting Anna and her family and personally delivering their Christmas gifts,” said Mark Spain. “Their excitement, happiness and gratitude reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas, which is giving.”
