Natural Gas Association Hosts 1st Annual Georgia Gas Industry Summit Next Week

The Natural Gas Association of Georgia will host the first ever, statewide Natural Gas Industry Summit on March 30-31st, 2022 at Lanier Islands Resort.

The Georgia Gas Summit, presented by Liberty Utilities Georgia and Consolidated Pipe and Supply, will bring together gas utilities, pipelines, local distribution companies, gas marketers, equipment suppliers, engineers, renewable natural gas project developers and manufacturers of gas appliances and NGV engines.

The Summit kicks off with an industry golf outing on March 30th at Legacy Golf Course followed by a member reception at Legacy Lodge. The program on March 31st opens at 8:00AM and will feature four discussion panels:

INTRODUCTION TO NGA : Board members share the impetus for creating NGA and discuss defining moments of the organization as well as cast a vision for its future. Moderator: Greg Chumley, Chairman NGA | Austell Natural Gas with board members from Municipal Gas Authority, SCANA Energy and Southern Natural Gas.

STATE OF THE INDUSTRY IN GEORGIA: Leading industry executives discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead for the natural gas industry as they work together to ensure Georgians have access to clean affordable and reliable energy, sustaining Georgia as a hub of economic activity in the southeast. Moderator: Chris Turner, NGA Board Member | Georgia Natural Gas with key executives from Southern Company Gas, Liberty Utilities Georgia, Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia, and Austell Natural Gas.

INNOVATION PANEL: GETTING TO NET ZERO: Gas Industry partners and developers share the latest innovations for a clean energy future through development of renewable natural gas in Georgia, compressed and adsorbed natural gas (CNG & ANG) for transportation, and strategies to detect and reduce methane emissions. Moderator: PJ Zonsius, NGA Vice-Chairman | Gas South with Ingevity ANG, Southern Cross, Southern Company Gas and Chesapeake Utilities – Marlin Gas.

MARKETING NATURAL GAS IN TODAY'S ENVIRONMENT: A conversation on strategies for effective messaging to the public and private sectors on the essential role natural gas plays in an energy efficient and sustainable future. Moderator: Nicole Graham | Municipal Gas Authority with Reservoir Communications, Consumer Energy Alliance and Loftin Public Affairs.

The Natural Gas Association of Georgia (NGA of Georgia) was formed in 2015. Made up of natural gas providers, pipeline companies, natural gas appliance manufacturers, industry suppliers and marketers, the association’s primary goal is to support and represent its member companies to promote and advocate for the use of safe, economical, American-made natural gas to build a low carbon future.
