Cap on Film Tax Credits Dies in State Legislature

Georgia studio executives got the outcome they wanted— the state's film tax credit will not be capped this year. The tax credit is often cited as a reason the state turned into a world leader in film and television production. Last year, the state distributed more than $1 billion in incentives.

“What should be reassuring to the production companies is that the film tax credit cap proposal got crushed so fast,” Ryan Millsap, founder of the new Blackhall Americana studio in Newton County, told Atlanta Business Chronicle Friday afternoon.
