GIS, Modern Engineering Tool for Seeing the Big Picture

Mr. Creek and Mr. Knapp will discuss how the new GIS technology helps organize data for quick easy reference to efficiently manage planning, design, construction and maintenance

for all kinds of organizations. They will present on the many ways that GIS is being leveraged in the AEC Industry, ranging from Informative Dashboards to Field Operations.   

The face-to-face gathering will start at 6:00, the online presentation will start at 7:00. Online participants will be able to use the chat feature to pose questions during the live presentation. The meeting presentation will be recorded and available for later viewing at no cost. This presentation, like the previous presentations, will qualify for a required engineering professional development hour (PDH). Currently registered professional engineers, those engineers aspiring to become PEs, and others engaged in engineering would benefit from the presentation. Anyone in the field of engineering and members of the general public are welcomed pose discussion topics and to learn about engineering and public welfare. This presentation, like the previous presentations will qualify for a PDH.

Andy Creek, Senior Solutions Engineer with Esri is an Atlanta native and has a BA degree in geography at Georgia State University. He has participated of government utility and engineering consulting projects. As a Geographic Information Systems Manager, he provides client leadership with Esri ArcGIS products, spatial analysis, system integration, database management, and solution design. with a proven track record

Andy Knapp has a BBA degree from University of North Carolina Wilmington. Prior to his Regional Account Executive position with Esri he worked for technology analytical products and cyber security firms.  From his base in the Charlotte area, he oversees accounts throughout the southeast.

About The Meeting

The GSPE Atlanta Metro Chapter meetings are open to engineering professionals, students, and other interested members of the public. The meetings usually take place on the second Monday of each month, September through June. The meetings start with F2F networking at 6:00 pm, followed by dinner and the speaker at 7:00 pm. The presentation will be viewable online through the GSPE video channel, www.youtube.com/GSPEng, starting at 7:00. Many engineers enjoy the presentations as well as earn a required Professional Development Hour.
