CaringWorks has named Ashlee Starr chief operating officer (COO) of the 20-year-old nonprofit organization, which is one of the largest providers of supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Reporting to CaringWorks founder and CEO Carol Collard, Starr will be charged with directing daily operations as well as steering the strategic direction of all CaringWorks programs to ensure clients receive the full spectrum of programs available to assist them in exiting homelessness.
“We have found in Ashlee a leader with both the experience and passion that are essential for leading the CaringWorks team into our next 20 years of helping Atlantans exit homelessness,” stated Collard. “Ending homelessness is so much more than finding shelter. At CaringWorks, we identify those most at risk of running into another housing crisis and give them access to programs that provide temporary financial assistance, health care, behavioral health services, employment assistance and other supportive services that can help them avoid a cycle of chronic homelessness. Ashlee understands how it all works together and will lead our team in connecting the dots to provide the full continuum of services for our clients.”
Starr has a proven record of delivering results for over 15 years across nonprofit management, program design and implementation, and partnership building. Specifically, Starr has deep experience in developing and managing programs to end homelessness in the metro-Atlanta area. As a leader, Starr has a history of building a work culture where team members feel supported and empowered to live out the organization’s mission every day.
