Full-service event planning and design firm WM Events is pleased to welcome several new team members to its executive staff. Following a period of pandemic realignment, the company is experiencing growth and poised for more.

“When the pandemic began, it had a significant effect on the events industry,” said William Fogler, founder and principal of WM Events. “We had to quickly reimagine how we could provide event planning to our clients to keep them connected to their various stakeholders. By adding many new services and getting creative with technology, we not only weathered the storm, but we have come out stronger.”

WM Events welcomes the following new employees:

Kristy Cook, CMP – Director of Business Development

Cook holds the Certified Meeting Professional credential and comes to WM Events from Affairs to Remember, where she was director of sales. She earned a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University.

Liz Aguillon – Director of Operations

Aguillon earned a degree at Kennesaw State University before launching her career in hospitality with Nuevo Laredo Cantina, where she worked as a manager for more than eight years. From there, she moved to Peachtree Tents & Events as senior account executive and honed her event skills for seven more years.

Eduardo Ramirez – Operations Manager

Ramirez comes to WM Events from Bold Catering & Design where he spent a dozen years honing his behind-the-scenes event skills, culminating in the position of logistics supervisor.

Latoya Johnson – Senior Event Planner

Johnson has rejoined WM Events as a senior event planner. Previously a design assistant and event designer at the company, she has also operated her own catering company and worked in the nonprofit sector. She has a Diplôme from Le Cordon Bleu and a B.A. from Smith College.

WM Events also welcomed three new hires in 2021:

Sara Gagnon – Floral Manager

Gagnon joined the WM Events team during summer 2021. She has had an extensive career in floral design and event sales, having worked with well-known companies like Saratoga Event Group, A Divine Event, B&G Florist and A Floral Affair by Sheree.

Olivia Allen – Event Planner + Designer

Allen will celebrate her one-year anniversary with WM Events this month. She graduated from UGA’s Terry College of Business, then worked in marketing and cultural event planning in Spain and Malaysia before returning to Atlanta.

Tigest Gashaye – Event Planner + Designer

Gashaye joined WM Events in the fall of 2021, bringing with her a background that ranged from catering sales to nonprofit work to wedding planning and real estate. Before launching her professional career, she earned a degree in sociology from Georgia State University.
