CaringWorks, one of the largest providers of supportive housing in the metropolitan Atlanta area for 20 years, has launched a Father’s Day fundraising campaign to reunite fathers who are facing homelessness with their families. Although CaringWorks provides services to men, women and families, a significant portion of their clients are men who are working to regain stability and rebuild their families, but they require access to comprehensive mental and behavioral health services as well as other supportive services to make sustainable change.

Bradley Porter is a recent graduate of the Deaf Bridges to Recovery (DBR) program at Hope House, CaringWorks’ residential facility in downtown Atlanta that provides quality housing and structured support to adult men who have experienced homelessness and are in recovery from substance addiction. Since successfully completing the two-year program, Bradley has a stable job and home, which has brought him a new sense of purpose as well as a restored relationship with his daughter Ivy.

“We want to have a relationship, and I’ve missed that bond that we did share. So, getting that back has been the best thing ever," Bradley said. "I am just so grateful for Hope House and CaringWorks. I can’t even put into words everything that they have given our family.”

Since 2002, CaringWorks has demonstrated that men and women can escape homelessness and lead healthy, productive lives. Every year, CaringWorks provides hundreds of individuals facing chronic homelessness access to services that foster dignity, self-sufficiency, and well-being, including mental and behavioral health services. CaringWorks residents work, pay taxes, rent apartments, purchase groceries, volunteer, and join faith-based organizations. Over 90% of CaringWorks residents are still housed one year after joining the program.
