For nearly 25 years, the CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards have recognized technology executives for outstanding leadership and the business value created by technology innovation. On July 28, 2022, for the first-time ever, ORBIE winners from across the US came together in-person for the National ORBIE Awards in Atlanta, Georgia.

InspireCIO Leadership Network announced the winners of its National CIO of the Year® ORBIE® Awards. InspireCIO recognized chief information officers in eight key categories – Super Global, Global, Large Enterprise, Enterprise, Large Corporate, Corporate, Healthcare, and Nonprofit/Public Sector.

The 2022 National ORBIE Awards winners are:

›› Kim Hales, SVP of IT, NRG Energy received the Large Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $5 billion annual revenue.

›› Anita Klopfenstein, CIO, Little Caesars Enterprise - Ilitch Owned Companies received the Enterprise ORBIE for organizations over $2 billion annual revenue.

›› Colleen Berube, SVP & CIO, Operations, Zendesk received the Large Corporate ORBIE for organizations over $1.2 billion annual revenue.

›› Andrew Brock, President & CIO, Associa; CEO Associa Digital Services, Associa received the Corporate ORBIE for organizations up to $1.2 billion annual revenue.

›› Cris Ross, CIO, Mayo Clinic received the Healthcare ORBIE for hospitals & healthcare organizations.

›› Dr. Curt Carver, VP & CIO, UAB received the Nonprofit/Public Sector ORBIE for government, education & nonprofit organizations.

The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards is the premier technology executive recognition program in the United States. Since inception in 1998, over 500 CIO of the Year winners have received the prestigious ORBIE Award. The ORBIE honors chief information officers who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. The National ORBIE Awards were hosted by the National ORBIE Awards Chair, Mamatha Chamarthi, Global SVP of Software & Business Management of Stellantis. The National ORBIE Awards culminated Converge22, the first InspireCIO National Member Conference in Atlanta, GA.
