ADL’s Jurisprudence Awards pay tribute each year to lawyers who have, throughout their careers, dedicated themselves to securing justice and fair treatment for all people. With Co-chairs Robin Sangston formerly of Cox Communications and Eric Barnum of BakerHostetler, this year’s event will attract lawyers and civic leaders from across the Southeast and amplify the organization’s mission to fight all forms of hate, to expose extremism and to educate people about the corrosive effects of bias and discrimination.
The 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to Ernest Greer, co-president of Greenberg Traurig, an international law firm with more than 2,400 attorneys in 43 locations. Greer is a highly accomplished business attorney and an outstanding leader and champion for his community. He was the first lawyer to serve as Chairman of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce in 2014. He serves on the boards for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Atlanta History Center, Achieve Atlanta, the Atlanta Police Foundation, the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and Equal Justice Works. His leadership, accomplishments and legal practice have been recognized by many industry publications and organizations.
Each year, the Elbert P. Tuttle Jurisprudence Award is given to a lawyer who best exemplifies Judge Tuttle’s life work and ADL’s mission. The 2022 Tuttle Jurisprudence Award will be presented to Liz Price, a partner at Alston & Bird, where she serves as the firm’s chief legal talent partner and alumni relations partner. Price serves on the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) National Board of Directors as well as on the board of the Southeast Region of ADL and is the former national chair of civil rights for ADL. She is a Past Chair of the NALP Foundation and serves on the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust. Price is the Chair-Elect of the Southeast Regional Board for UNICEF. She is a past president of the Atlanta Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Foundation, past chair of the Southeast Region of ADL and a former member of the board of governors of the State Bar of Georgia.
Additionally, ADL Southeast presents an Emerging Leader Award each year to an attorney practicing 10 years or less who has gone above and beyond in their legal practice and/or civic contributions to uphold the spirit of ADL’s mission. ADL’s Jurisprudence Committee proudly presents the 2022 ADL Emerging Leader Award to Jamie Perez.
ADL is the world’s leading anti-hate organization. Founded in 1913 in response to an escalating climate of antisemitism and bigotry, its timeless mission is to protect the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment for all. Today, ADL continues to fight all forms of hate with the same vigor and passion. A global leader in exposing extremism, delivering anti-bias education and fighting hate online, ADL is the first call when acts of antisemitism occur. ADL’s ultimate goal is a world in which no group or individual suffers from bias, discrimination, or hate.
