Big Brothers Big Sisters Celebrates Program Alumni at Legacy Awards

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) held its 28th Annual Legacy Awards on September 15 at The Coca-Cola Roxy. Nearly 300 attendees enjoyed dance performances by Eddie Ares and the Academy Ballroom, and comedy from host José Sarduy. The event raised over $500,000 through sponsorship, fundraising, and a live and silent auction.

“This year’s Legacy Awards highlighted BBBSMA’s biggest legacy – the program alumni who are our current and future leaders of our community,” said Kwame Johnson, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta. “We were able to honor our outstanding program alumni, recent graduates, and volunteers, and it felt very special to be able to showcase the relationships that come out of this program.”

The 2022 Outstanding Graduate Award Recipients are Sydnee-Jordan McCloud (presented by Labriah Lee Holt, Microsoft) and Aidan Moreland (presented by Chloe Barzey, Accenture). The Next Generation Legacy Award Honoree is Stephon Avery (presented by Arthur M. Blank and Angela Blank, The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation). The Defender of Potential Award Recipient is James Flanagan (presented by Rodney Bullard, Chick-fil-A).

The Platinum Sponsor was The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. Gold Sponsors included: Chick-fil-A, Cox Enterprises/The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia-Pacific, Georgia Power, Public Super Markets Charities, and UPS. Silver Sponsors included: CIBC Private Wealth Management, First Horizon, Greenberg Traurig, KPMG, The Jeff Sprecher and Kelly Loeffler Charitable Fund, and Tanner, Ballew & Maloof.
