The
KFC Foundation has granted Roswell, Georgia, non-profit
Sunshine on a Ranney Day, which builds custom rooms for children with special needs in the greater Atlanta area, a $10,000 Kentucky Fried Wishes grant to make a project on their wish list come true. The organization was nominated Bill Byrd, a KFC Franchisee with restaurants in Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.
“We are so grateful to the KFC Foundation for this generous Kentucky Fried Wishes grant, which will help our organization renovate a wheelchair accessible bathroom for an amazing child,” said Holly Ranney, co-founder and president of Sunshine on a Ranney Day.
Kentucky Fried Wishes is a community-based grant program funded by the KFC Foundation that empowers eligible* team members at KFC restaurants to make a tangible impact on their local communities by nominating non-profit organizations doing meaningful work. This year the KFC Foundation has granted half a million dollars in Kentucky Fried Wishes to 50 deserving non-profit organizations across the country.
“The vision of the Kentucky Fried Wishes program is to empower KFC restaurant employees to give back to the communities they serve and build lasting relationships with organizations they are passionate about,” said Emma Horn, executive director, KFC Foundation. “We’re proud to grant half a million dollars in wishes to 50 non-profits across the country this year.”
Sunshine on a Ranney Day is a nonprofit organization, based in Roswell, Georgia, that reimagines and builds custom rooms for children with special needs. Through partnerships and donors, the organization provides no-cost wheelchair accessible bathrooms, dream bedrooms and in-home therapy rooms. Sunshine on a Ranney Day has completed 160 room makeovers since its inception in 2012 and plans to complete 20 more in 2022.
Local KFC franchisee Bill Bryd has been on the Sunshine on a Ranney Day board of directors since 2020 and is passionate about the non-profit’s mission to serve children with special needs in the greater Atlanta area.
