Atlanta Was the 4th Most Attractive Data Center Investment Destination of the Decade

Digital infrastructure assets have become a hot investment. With that in mind, we wanted to see how U.S. markets had fared over the past decade in terms of data center space. Our analysis looked at CommercialEdge data center sales and development data from 2012 through 2021 in 90 U.S. markets, and ranked the top 20 data center markets by sales and construction.
Here are some highlights for Atlanta:

The Atlanta metro was the fourth-most attractive data center investment destination of the decade — sales here came out to a total of $509 million and encompassed 2 million square feet of data center space.

Atlanta was the fifth-largest data center market in the country at the close of 2021, with a total of 7.2 million square feet of property dedicated primarily to data center use.

Atlanta also made it in the top 20 biggest data center deals of the last decade at #5 with the sale of 200 Peachtree in 2012 for $145 million.
