Getting to Know Buckhead Coalition Chair Elect, Eric Tanenblatt

Eric Tanenblatt is the Global Chair of Public Policy and Regulation at Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, leveraging his three decades of experience at the highest levels of federal and state government. Eric, a renowned lecturer and political counselor who’s widely regarded as one of the nation’s preeminent public policy thought leaders, has served in the administrations of three US presidents and as a senior advisor to a US senator and governor. Eric served as chief of staff to Governor Sonny Perdue and was a longtime senior advisor to the late US Senator Paul Coverdell (R-GA).
He began his career in government in the administration of President George H. W. Bush at the Department of Health and Human Services and the Peace Corps. Eric was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the US Senate to serve on the Board of Directors of the Corporation for National and Community Service, serving from 2008 until 2013 and in 2019 joined the Board of Directors of Points of Light. For the past 30 years, Eric has been an active member of the Atlanta business and civic community serving on the boards of the Georgia Chamber, Metro Atlanta Chamber, the Buckhead Coalition and is a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta. Named one of Georgia’s 100 most influential persons and a political legacy leader by the magazine Georgia Trend, Eric is often quoted or cited by some of the most prestigious news and opinion services in the world, including the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the New York Times, US News and World Report and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Eric is a graduate of Emory University. He and his wife Mary have two sons, Matt and Sam, who both graduated from Pace Academy in Buckhead.
