PAWS Atlanta, Georgia’s oldest no-kill animal shelter, welcomed five new members to their Board of Directors this year. This group of kindhearted individuals supports the work of the shelter and ensures that the animals at PAWS Atlanta are well cared for until they find their forever homes. The new members are Katie Beacham, Jonathan Green, Atul Kanvinde, Tamara Lopata, and Jennifer Ready.
• Katie Beacham is the Chief Corporate Citizenship Officer at Kilpatrick Townsend. She is passionate about education, workforce development, fighting hunger and homelessness, and taking care of nature and its creatures. She has three rescue dogs, one adopted from PAWS Atlanta.
• Jonathan Green is a Shareholder at Baker Donelson where he represents financial services companies of all types in litigation and regulatory matters. As a long-time animal lover, the forgotten needs of animal shelters after the pandemic motivated Jonathan to step up.
• Atul Kanvinde is the Director of Inpatient Clinical Information Systems at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. He is a healthcare technology leader working to serve the kids who come to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for specialized care. He and his wife are passionate about rescuing dogs and look forward to being more involved in animal rescue.
• Tamara Lopata is the Client Engagement Executive at Hylaine, a project-based IT consulting company. She’s been an animal lover throughout her life and has fostered seven rescue dogs. Tamara is passionate about volunteering and making a difference in her community, and she’s excited to use her time and skills to help the animals at PAWS Atlanta.
• Jennifer Ready is the Founder & Partner at Narwhal Digital, a strategic digital experience and product design agency. She has lived and breathed digital throughout her career, telling stories and building brands with technology. Her skills are an excellent fit for spreading the word about PAWS Atlanta’s animals.
Board President, Patty Lavely, states, “The Board of Directors is an important part of ensuring the future of PAWS Atlanta. We have always been blessed with strong strategic leadership on the board and it continues with our new directors. I am excited to welcome them to the Board and the PAWS Atlanta family.” PAWS Atlanta is delighted to add these valued members to their team and anticipates the bright future they can develop together for animals in need.
