As ADAC (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center) explores the principles of balance at this year’s DESIGN ADAC, the team is excited to celebrate art, an essential part of bringing balance and harmony to any design. Finding the perfect piece to finish a space is crucial to the design process, so as ADAC expands offering original art with the opening of New Alpha Gallery a Frank Thomas Company, it was only fitting to highlight this significant category found at many showrooms throughout the design center. For the latest installment of ADAC: BEHIND THE WINDOWS, this season’s featured design firms, C + H INTERIORS, Habachy Designs, Regas Interiors and The Drawing Room created spaces that emphasize the importance of art in design. The exhibit allows designers to showcase their work through one-of-a-kind window vignettes located in different suites throughout ADAC. Discover why inspiration is plentiful throughout the halls of ADAC by visiting these invigorating vignettes in person.

Kim Regas of Regas Interiors describes her vignette vision saying, “Who isn’t inspired by the fabulous city of Paris? So, when we were asked to create an art gallery-style vignette inspired by a city of our choice, our creativity began to soar as we leaped immediately to the artists who line the streets of Paris. Certainly not a traditional gallery of choice—but inspiring, nonetheless. So come stroll down the Champs Elysees with us as we honor the centuries of talented artists that have chosen this as their gallery of sorts to display their creativity.”

Lia Shin of C+H Interiors shares all the details of her installation, “A striking assortment of original hand-painted artworks stretch across the sweeping display in a symphonic blend of aesthetic and texture,” Shin describes. “An intricately tailored system of exhibition lights from Simply Wired PRO bathe everything in a daring, modern atmosphere, highlighting the dramatic rhythm of alternating curves and edges echoed across art, wood paneling from FormAtWood, and JRA furniture.”

Seth van den Bergh of The Drawing describes their vignette with its Abacus Table centerpiece saying, “With its bespoke design and customizable colors, it is the perfect centerpiece for those who want to ignite the creative fire within and unleash their inner artist.”

This year, ‘BEHIND THE WINDOWS’ launches on April 18 during the annual spring market, DESIGN ADAC. DESIGN ADAC is an occasion for designers, architects, builders, and the public to get their creative juices flowing through keynote presentations, salon-style talks, book signings, product launches, tours and more.
