Wednesday, June 21st, 2023

Atlanta-based real estate investment and development firm Branch Properties announced today that Southern cuisine restaurant Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar will join the tenant lineup at Limestone Marketplace, a forthcoming 76,764-square-foot Publix-anchored shopping center in Gainesville, Georgia. Construction is underway and the restaurant will open in late 2024 as the center is slated to deliver in late summer 2024.

Located at the signalized intersection of Limestone Parkway (US Hwy 129/S.R. 11) and New Holland Way in Gainesville, Limestone Marketplace will include a 54,964-square-foot Publix Super Market in addition to 21,800 square feet of inline retail space for restaurants, service providers and retailers including SuperChix, Jersey Mike’s and Apollo Nail Spa. Tupelo Honey will join the development in a 5,600-square-foot space featuring its signature Southern-inspired interiors and a large outdoor patio.

“Our goal is to curate a lineup of desirable, high-quality tenants that cater to the surrounding community’s needs,” said Brett Horowitz, partner at Branch. “Tupelo Honey’s sophisticated yet comfortable, hospitality-driven atmosphere is the ideal addition to Limestone Marketplace, and we know it will be well received by the neighborhood. We have seen heavy interest from a variety of business types in leasing space at the center and look forward to announcing more tenants in the near future.”

Tupelo Honey is an Asheville, North Carolina-based restaurant chain specializing in Southern cuisine, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner at 21 locations nationwide. Tupelo Honey’s new location in Gainesville will offer the same made-from-scratch food, drinks and hospitality it has crafted for over 23 years.

"We were so impressed with Gainesville and the plan for high quality shopping and dining in Limestone Marketplace, that we immediately knew we wanted to be a part of this growing and thriving community,” said Christin Prince, senior vice president of marketing at Tupelo Honey.  “Tupelo Honey's great scratch-made southern fare is the perfect complement to the marketplace's vision and for our new neighbors of Gainesville."

Headquartered in Athens, Georgia, Georgia Skin Cancer & Aesthetic Dermatology has also purchased adjacent land to the development from Branch to build a medical office building. It will occupy 10,125 square feet on the first floor offering medical and cosmetic dermatology treatments and surgeries, and will lease the remaining 10,125 square feet on the second floor. Located three miles from downtown Gainesville within Hall County, Limestone Marketplace will cater to the county’s rising population, which increased by more than 13% between 2011 to 2021 according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The city of Gainesville itself grew by over 26% within the same timeframe and has recently seen rapid growth in manufacturing, medical and higher education jobs.

Branch currently owns two other projects in the Gainesville area including Village Shoppes at Gainesville, a 229,507 square foot Publix Super Markets-anchored power center, also in Gainesville; and Lakeshore Mall.
