Atlanta BeltLine Launches Monthly Artist Market Series at BeltLine Marketplace

Thursday, August 10th, 2023

Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) announces the launch of the Atlanta BeltLine Indie Market, a series of vibrant artist markets taking place on second Saturdays at the Eastside and Westside BeltLine MarketPlace locations. These markets aim to support small businesses, promote local artists and foster community engagement among Atlanta's diverse neighborhoods.

From August through October 2023, the Atlanta BeltLine Indie Market will occur on the second Saturday of each month. The next market is Aug. 12th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The final market of the year will take place on Saturday, Nov. 25th, coinciding with Small Business Saturday.

The Atlanta BeltLine Indie Market will be held at the two MarketPlace locations: Under the John Lewis Freedom Parkway Bridge on the Eastside Trail and at the intersection of Allene Avenue and the BeltLine near Adair Park on the Westside Trail. In addition to the artists, people can explore the small, local, Black-owned businesses that are taking part in the business incubator at the BeltLine MarketPlace. These businesses offer vegan snacks, sweet treats, coffee, iconic Atlanta merchandise and plants.

During the indie market second Saturdays, people can expect to discover a half dozen or so talented local artists and musicians at each location, offering creative, handmade crafts and one-of-a-kind art.

“We’re excited to bring the Atlanta BeltLine Indie Market to our BeltLine MarketPlace locations,” said Kara Cooper, Atlanta BeltLine Director of Economic Development. “This initiative not only supports our local artists and musicians but also creates a lively and engaging community activity for residents and visitors. We encourage everyone to join us on the Second Saturdays and experience the vibrant culture of Atlanta's creative community.”

“The markets serve two goals,” Cooper added. “Showcasing talented artists to connect them to a broader audience and serving as a platform for small businesses to thrive and contribute to the economic growth of the city.”
