Tuesday, August 15th, 2023
NAIOP Georgia today announces Teresa Tatum as its new Executive Director. Tatum assumes the role from Debbie Koenig, who served as executive director for over 21 years.
“We interviewed a large pool of candidates for this role, but after each meeting with Teresa, the selection committee was certain she was the right candidate for our organization,” said Suzanne Markey, NAIOP Georgia’s 2023 president. “Not only is she an expert in the meeting, tradeshow and event industry, but she’s also an experienced liaison between multiple audiences – NAIOP Georgia will continue to thrive under her leadership.”
Tatum previously served as Director of Education for the Georgia Pharmacy Association, where she also served as Director of the Georgia Pharmacy Foundation. She was formerly the executive director at the Georgia Association of Medical Equipment Suppliers, and she has held the role of exposition, conference and operations manager for Nielson Business Media, Technical Association of Pulp & Paper Industry and The Kellen Company.
“NAIOP GA has a dedicated group of hard-working volunteer leaders as well as a large, engaged membership,” said Tatum. “Debbie is leaving the chapter in a great place – with momentum and an organized calendar of events. I look forward to building on the current success of the organization as we move forward together.”
A graduate of Georgia State University’s College of Public and Urban Affairs, Tatum has professional experience in association and non-profit management, city-wide conventions and tradeshows and special events. In 2017 she was awarded the American Society for Association Executives Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. Outside her professional life, Tatum loves to spend time with her six children and two large canine children. She volunteers at Mt. Paran North Church’s Children’s ministry and is the Division Director of Camp Rocks/ Square Pegs Ministries.
NAIOP Georgia has an active membership and many upcoming events. Its annual happy hour will take place this week, and the September Breakfast Meeting will be held on Sept. 27 at Cherokee Town and Country Club. The organization’s inaugural Sporting Clays Competition will be held on Oct. 3 at Garland Mountain in Waleska, Ga. More details will come soon for its Annual Awards of Excellence Breakfast.
