Cottages Celebrates Assisted Living Week
Tuesday, September 12th, 2023
September 10-16 is National Assisted Living Week, an opportunity for residents, their family members, staff, volunteers, and local communities to celebrate those who live and work in assisted living and to learn more about this aspect of long-term care.
To celebrate this special week The Cottages of Milledgeville, the Lake Country’s premier Assisted Living community, will hold some special activities for its residents and staff. On Monday, September 11, residents and staff will wear red, white and blue to remember those whose lives were lost on 9/11. The duo of Jimmie Johnson and Joann Clark will entertain the residents with a music program at 3:00 on Monday afternoon.
Tuesday, September 12 will be “Pajama Day” at The Cottages with residents encouraged to wear their favorite PJ’s. Tony Myers will provide musical entertainment on Tuesday afternoon.
“Dress Tacky Day” will be Wednesday, September 13, and include The Cottages’ second annual “Tacky Dress Fashion Show” in the afternoon. The attire for Thursday, September 14 will be “Fun Decades,” where residents will be encouraged to wear clothes from their favorite decades.
Friday, September 15, The Cottages will wrap-up “Assisted Living Week” and get ready for sports activities over the weekend, by asking their residents to wear attire for their favorite teams. And at 2:30 pm new residents will be officially welcomed during a party with entertainment from DJ Ben Sandifer.
The Cottages of Milledgeville is a gated community with 33 Assisted Living Suites, as well as patio homes for independent living. If you’d like to cover any of these “Assisted Living Week” activities, contact Renee Barreth at 478-414-1234, or [email protected]
