Ashley Klein Earns MMMPact Award; Pro Bono Super Stars Honored

Thursday, October 5th, 2023

MMMPact, the corporate social responsibility outreach of Morris, Manning & Martin, has announced the firm’s 2023 honorees for volunteer work.

Ashley Klein is the recipient of the Wells-Graham Award for Outstanding Service. The recognition, named for retired Managing Partner Louise Wells and long-time MMMPact Chair Christina Graham,   goes to an attorney or staff member who goes above and beyond in their dedication to community service.

Klein’s accomplishments include raising almost $20,000 through a prestigious Atlanta Women’s Foundation program called Inspire Atlanta that benefits underserved women and girls. She was among the highest fundraisers in the Catholic Charities Atlanta’s 2021-2022 Leadership Program. She also helped resolve one of the biggest challenges the Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House, a home away from home for patients and caregivers who come to Atlanta for medical purposes, ever had. When its landlord opted not to renew its lease, she helped find comparable housing near Emory and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

She is active with MMMPact’s Women’s Initiative, and as part of her involvement, created an entirely new professional development series open to all MMM’s women associates. In addition to helping MMM recruit and retain women attorneys, she moderates panels on diversity and inclusion for current law students. When she chaired MMMPact’s Associate Involvement effort, Klein helped organize a firm-wide fundraiser that raised over $10,000 for families affected by 2021’s Kentucky tornados.

The firm also named its Pro Bono Super Stars – recognizing those who donated an exceptional amount of free legal services to individuals and nonprofits who could not otherwise afford them.
This year’s Pro Bono Super Stars are:
* Jessica Franks-Owens
* Luke Owens
* Bonnie Hochman-Rothell
* James Reed
* Abraham llama
* Ballard Yelton
* Brian Remler

Each Super Star has dedicated at least 50 hours of free legal work to individuals and nonprofits.
