Rina To Open at Avalon Today
Monday, November 13th, 2023
Rina, the Israeli-style eatery from Tal Baum’s Oliva Restaurant Group, is set to open its second location on Monday, November 13 at Avalon in Alpharetta, Georgia. The casual restaurant will channel the effervescence of Tel Aviv beach vibes with upbeat Israeli tunes and popular mezze, hummus varieties, pitas, platters, fun drinks and more. Lunch and dinner will be available from 11am-10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11am-11pm Friday and Saturday. The dining room will offer full-service dining, and a to-go counter and takeout window will allow guests on the run to quickly grab a meal. The full menu is available here.
The new location aims to bring all the colorful charm of the original Old Fourth Ward restaurant to Alpharetta. Designed by Smith Hanes Studio in collaboration with Baum, the 3,268-square-foot space will immerse guests into a breezy beachside oasis with a vibrant color palette, cheerful design elements, ocean-themed decor, Mondarian-style glass block windows, large planters and ceiling flags. There will be indoor and outdoor seating with classic blue and white striped awnings, plus rolling glass doors adorning the facade and bringing fresh air into the space when the weather is nice.
Rina, named after Baum’s grandmother, serves fresh, bright takes on Israeli-style street food, blending local ingredients with foreign tradition inspired by her childhood in Israel and her family’s traditional recipes. With an array of platters, sides and pitas, diners can expect dishes like the Chicken Shawarma Pita with baba ganoush, Israeli salad, sumac slaw, harissa, tahini & peach amba, the Falafel Salad with romaine, chickpeas tahini salad, Israeli salad, feta, crispy chickpeas, sumac slaw, sunflower seeds, boiled egg & green-goddess tahini dressing and the Beef Kebab with tomato brown butter, harissa, labneh, cilantro, grilled vegetables, turmeric rice & pomegranate. Additionally, their beverage program, led by Oliva Restaurant Group’s Beverage Director & Creative Director Demario Wallace, boasts a unique lineup of specialty cocktails that feel perfect for sipping next to the ocean. Favorites include the frozen Hof Alma with passionfruit, gin, lemon, orange & Arak and the Hof Tel Baruch with vodka, Aperol, dragonfruit, lemon & Topo Chico.
“We are thrilled to grow with a second location of Rina and to join the exciting mix of businesses at Avalon,” says Founder and CEO Tal Baum. “From the array of seasonal events to the lively environment, this property fits perfectly with the colorful energy of our restaurant.”
“We pride ourselves on having a restaurant for every craving at Avalon, and Rina is the perfect addition to the Boulevard with its laid-back, welcoming atmosphere and flavorful, unique menu,” said Nina DeCristofano Fender, Avalon marketing manager. “We can’t wait for our guests to experience a taste of this ITP favorite a little closer to home.”
