Atlanta interior design firm M One Design Group has announced the completion of its design for Hillcrest II, a new 180-unit affordable senior living project in partnership with Atlanta-based multifamily developer The Benoit Group. The project is part of the 9+-acre master-planned Hillcrest community in East Point, Atlanta and is the latest major multifamily design venture for the firm.

M One Design Group has unveiled their elevated interior design theme for the senior living community, including selections and finishes for all units and amenities. Amenity spaces include a club room, movie theatre, arts and crafts area, fitness center, activity rooms and outdoor seating.

“My goal was to create a space that residents would be proud to call home,” said Mona Stephen, Principal and Creative Director for M One Design Group. “Our team created visual aesthetics designed to inspire active seniors. The fabrics and furniture were curated with seniors in mind, catering to their functional needs, while giving them a fresh, welcoming space to enjoy.”

The overall style and color palette delivers a modern look with furniture selections that create a sense of home, allowing residents to feel youthful in their space, while preserving sturdy function. Furniture includes customized chair heights and grip-friendly chair arms combined with durable fabrics. A departure from more traditional designs, the décor infuses tones of gold and blue with metal finishes in a combination of gold and silver, bringing light and warmth into living areas.

Common spaces feature bold, vibrant art and playful themes with splashes of color and creative murals that create a welcoming atmosphere for community activities and gatherings. A movie theater features individual, reclining chairs with a velvet wall treatment for a true film vibe. Corridors are light and airy and flooring selections keep safety and mobility in mind, while maintaining a pleasant aesthetic.

 The multi-family senior-oriented village includes gated access, centralized outdoor courtyards, fitness centers, movie theaters, and a multi-purpose community room. The entire Hillcrest community will have 364 total affordable units for senior residents and is located about six miles southwest of downtown Atlanta.
