MARTA Airport Station Project Ahead of Schedule

The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Airport Station Project is ahead of schedule, with construction crews making significant progress on the renovation of the concourse and platform levels. The rail station remains closed through Sunday, May 19.

Since April 8, crews have done the following:

  • Completed demolition and disposal of concourse tiles

  • Completed demolition and disposal of platform pavers

  • Prepared surfaces and commenced installation of terrazzo flooring in the concourse

  • Prepared surfaces and commenced installation of new pavers on the platform

  • Ongoing repairs and sealing of leaks along the track walls

  • Ongoing priming and painting of track and concourse walls

  • Started modifications to stairway walls

  • Started removal of tactile warning strip 

MARTA service does continue to and from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport via bus shuttles between College Park Station and the North Terminal Lower Level, 22 hours a day. The shuttles are transporting approximately 7,000 to 9,000 customers daily. Airport Station typically averages 11,000 customers every day.

Taking MARTA TO the airport:

  • Travel to College Park Station as you normally would, exit the train and follow the signs for the shuttle to the airport located in the station bus loop. The shuttle will drop you at the North Terminal Lower Level – doors LN1 and LN2 – conveniently located near the employee entrance. 

Taking MARTA FROM the airport:

  • Follow the signs to Ground Transportation and North Baggage Claim. “MARTA Shuttle to Train” signs will lead downstairs to the North Terminal Lower Level where you can board the shuttle between doors LN1 and LN2.
