DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs’  

East Central DeKalb Community & Senior Center, the Hairston Crossing Library and The Friends of Hairston Park, have partnered to install a StoryWalk located in Hairston Park, 889 South Hairston Road, Stone Mountain, Ga. 30083.

DeKalb County families looking for socially distanced, self-guided activities, Hairston Park is a great place to start. The community can enjoy the StoryWalk® that will include picture books installed on signposts along popular walking routes throughout the park from May 1 - May 31. The StoryWalk® will feature the book “The Hike” by author Allison Farrell.

This activity is a wonderful way for participants of all ages to combine literacy skills and healthy exercise as they walk to each reading station while enjoying the beauty of the park.
