Charleston, South Carolina is crowned the best US city for a girls’ weekend

Charleston ranks as the number one city in the US for a girls’ weekend, with 113 restaurants and 48 bars per 10,000 people to explore. It’s also more affordable than a lot of other cities analyzed, with taxi fares averaging $20 and a hotel room costing around $180 per night. 

Atlanta comes in a close second, with more bars (49 per 10k people) and restaurants (154 per 10k people) than any other city on the list. Burlington, Vermont rounds out the top three, offering the cheapest hotel costs ($66 per night).

Atlanta is the place to be when it comes to bars, with an impressive 2,423 to choose from. This works out as 49 per 10,000 people, which is more than any other location on our list. It also tops the list for restaurants, with 154 available per 10k people.

Las Vegas comes in second for restaurants with 8,455 (130 per 10k people), while Charleston, South Carolina has the second-highest number of bars (48 per 10k people).

Boise is the safest city for a girls’ weekend, scoring 64.89/100 

Boise ranks as the safest city of all, scoring 64.89 out of 100 for safety when walking alone at night. This is followed by Virginia Beach (62.57) and Salt Lake City (62.13).

Meanwhile, Jackson, Mississippi is the least safe city with a score of just 10.55 out of 100 – so it’s important to take extra precautions to stay safe here and try to avoid walking anywhere at night. Baltimore is the second-least safe city (17.98), followed by Newark (19.10).
