Thriving Together Atlanta is a public art project that will present a series of cultural events to help raise awareness about how systemic racism continues to impact the health and well-being of Atlanta citizens. A collaboration between the City of Atlanta - Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, the CDC Foundation, National Black Arts Festival, and Out of Hand Theater, the project will engage communities through the power of arts and culture, to educate, empower, and mobilize individuals towards positive action.

The next event will be an Equitable Dinners experience on Saturday, June 1st at 10 am at Atlanta Metro State College, 1630 Metropolitan Parkway SW, Building 800, Atlanta, GA 30310.  It will be hosted by the Atlanta Neighborhood Development Partnership (ANDP) and will bring together community leaders and members of the public to enjoy a meal together. The event will begin with a short theatrical performance to provide context and inspiration for a meaningful discussion. Admission is FREE, but seating is limited, and attendees must register. “We invite the Atlanta community to join us for our events and engage in important conversations,” states Camille Russell Love, Executive Director of the City of Atlanta - Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. “We’ll explore issues of food insecurity, environmental factors, and racial discrimination, and how we can work on these issues together to create a more equitable, healthier, thriving Atlanta.”

Presented in collaboration with Out of Hand Theater, Equitable Dinners for Thriving Together Atlanta are transformative events that foster connections between attendees, and spark change. Each dinner starts with a short play that sets the stage for meaningful conversations. These gatherings invite people from diverse backgrounds to engage in discussions about complex subjects while enjoying a meal.
