Swift Currie Welcomes Six Attorneys in Atlanta and Birmingham

Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP is proud to announce the addition of six attorneys to the firm. Jeffrey Boyd and Tameika Briscoe join the Atlanta, Georgia office as senior attorneys along with associates Luke W. Maher and Chauncey L. Mullins. In Birmingham, Alabama, Lauren A. Huston and Cameron Tipton joined as associates.

Jeffrey D. Boyd
Jeffrey (Jeff) Boyd joins Swift Currie’s Atlanta office as a senior attorney, focusing his practice on civil litigation related to personal injury, transportation, construction defects, premises and products liability disputes. Boyd held clerkships in federal district court and state supreme court, gaining experience in judicial decision-making at the trial and appellate level. He has been representing clients in a wide variety of industries since 2012, managing complex litigation and providing individualized service tailored to specific client and case needs.
Boyd additionally contributes to the legal field through membership in various sections of the State Bar of Georgia. He did the same practicing law in Texas, as a member of the Austin Bar Association and as a fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation. At the University of Texas School of Law, he served as the associate editor of the Texas Law Review.
Boyd earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University.
Tameika Briscoe
Tameika Briscoe joins Swift Currie’s Atlanta office as a senior attorney, focusing her practice on defending domestic and international product manufacturers, designers, distributors, and retailers in state and federal courts throughout the country. Briscoe is experienced handling all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting legal research and factual investigations and counseling clients on early case resolution and litigation strategy. She is also adroit with managing cases from start to finish, preparing discovery responses and engaging in settlement negotiations and trial preparation.
In the community, Briscoe is very active with her sorority, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., serving on the local, state, regional and international level. She is currently on the International Protocol Team for our upcoming Boule in Indianapolis and is also the secretary on the Stork’s Nest committee for her local chapter, Phi Omicron Zeta.
Briscoe earned her law degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and her bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University.
Lauren A. Huston
Lauren A. Huston joins Swift Currie's Birmingham office as an associate attorney in the coverage and commercial litigation group. Her practice focuses on disputes related to insurance coverage, professional liability and other liability matters. Prior to pursuing her legal career, she worked as a claims adjuster for a major property and casualty insurer, providing her with a more holistic experience working with and within the insurance industry.
Huston earned her law degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and her bachelor’s degree from Troy University. She is an active member of the Alabama State Bar, including the Women's Section, Young Lawyers Section and Lawyer Voices for Survivors Task Force, as well as the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association and the Birmingham Bar Association.
Luke W. Maher
Luke W. Maher joins Swift Currie’s Atlanta office as an associate attorney with the litigation practice group. Maher previously served as a document review attorney and as an attorney for a Texas-based firm where he argued dispositive motions in court and drafted a variety of legal documents, from lawsuits to memorandums. He has also provided civil pro bono legal assistance for a tenant in an eviction action.
Maher earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
Chauncey L. Mullins
Chauncey L. Mullins joins Swift Currie's Atlanta office as an associate attorney, focusing his practice on defending individuals and companies in various areas, including automobile litigation, construction law, premises liability, products liability and trucking litigation.
Mullins earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi School of Law and separate bachelor’s degrees in arts and sciences from the University of Mississippi.
Cameron Tipton
Cameron Tipton joins Swift Currie’s Birmingham office as an associate attorney in the commercial litigation practice group. She focuses her practice on issues regarding transportation and medical malpractice litigation. Tipton is experienced drafting pleadings, motions for summary judgment and written discovery, as well as engaging in legal research, analysis, strategy and assessment for clients.
Tipton earned her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama.
