Swinerton, an industry-leading commercial general contractor with offices nationwide, announces the appointment of industry expert Ryan Porche as Project Executive for its Atlanta division, enhancing the company’s healthcare acumen as market demand grows. Porche adds extensive experience to Swinerton’s veteran healthcare team with experience managing over $789 million in construction projects nationwide and $527 million in the metro Atlanta market alone. As project executive, Porche plays an instrumental role in pursuing healthcare construction opportunities and managing the expanding pipeline.

Raised in Atlanta, Porche has a history of leading complex healthcare construction projects. “Ryan’s work with numerous prominent clients allows him to speak to their top priorities,” says Derek Mosiman, Vice President and Division Manager of Swinerton’s Atlanta division. “He has established relationships with partners in all aspects of construction – from facilities to procurement to project management – making him a trusted resource.” His local knowledge and credibility, paired with Swinerton’s Rashad Morton’s background and operational excellence, reinforces Swinerton’s role as a healthcare powerhouse in the Atlanta market.

Porche, the son of a residential builder, was inspired to pursue a degree in structural engineering from the University of Georgia. Spurred by the tangible benefits of the career, he has worked on healthcare projects across central United States, from Indiana to Texas. “I truly fell in love with healthcare construction not only because of how it benefits the surrounding community but also because of the unexpected challenges that inevitably need to be tackled,” says Porche.

Porche’s extensive Atlanta portfolio includes 1.8 million square feet of healthcare projects with major healthcare systems such as City of Hope®, Wellstar Healthcare System, Northside Hospital, Piedmont and Emory Healthcare. His work spans healthcare facilities, including the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, Wellstar Pharmacies and countless operating rooms and imaging centers. Most notably, Porche has installed seven LINAC vaults used in radiation treatments, including four elevated vaults only available at two locations throughout the United States. “These technically and logistically challenging builds require extensive preplanning and coordination, skills that I can apply to other unique healthcare facilities,” explains Porche. “And most construction professionals have not worked on vaults, much less elevated vaults.”

Mosiman adds, “Our collaborative culture and employee-owned workplace align well with the healthcare industry. We always build with the patient experience in mind – and have been recognized for our proven expertise.” In 2023, Building Design + Construction ranked Swinerton as the number two medical office building construction firm.

Since expanding to the Southeast in 2017, Swinerton’s Atlanta division has constructed nearly $500 million of commercial environments. The expert team of 70 construction professionals specializes in aviation, corporate interiors, healthcare, hospitality, and senior and affordable multifamily housing.
