Atlanta-based Blue River Development, LLC is thrilled to announce that the recent 29th Annual Hope Gala raised over $2 million toward Type 1 diabetes research. Presented by Breakthrough T1D, formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Blue River Development (BRD) supported the event for the third consecutive year as a Promise Sponsor.

"Blue River Development remains steadfast in our commitment to supporting Breakthrough T1D and advancing research for Type 1 diabetes until a cure is found,” said Blue River Development Managing Principal Michael Cooper. “It was also such a joy to have BRD team members and industry peers join us to support the Type 1 diabetes community and this meaningful cause."

Cooper was accompanied by his wife, Kristin Cooper, Blue River Communities CEO Greg Duriez, Christy Duriez, Kittle Homes Co-Owner Zac Kittle, and his wife. Cooper’s daughter Lily again served as an ambassador, creating a gift basket for the auction to reflect her experience with juvenile Type 1 diabetes and her personal interests.

Blue River remains dedicated to supporting community philanthropy and advocating for the Type 1 community’s welfare in its ongoing efforts to find a cure.

The Hope Gala, now in its 29th year, is an annual event dedicated to raising critical funds for Type 1 diabetes research. Themed ‘Miracles Happen Together,’ this year’s gala represented the collective tenacity and strength of the Atlanta Type 1 diabetic community and the overarching determination to make cures a reality through the gala’s series of events, including a silent auction, an inspirational program, a cocktail party, a seated dinner and a celebratory after party.

Formerly known as JDRF, Breakthrough T1D is the leading global organization funding Type 1 diabetes research. The new brand represents how Type 1 diabetes has evolved over the last 50 years, from a condition that was once diagnosed as juvenile diabetes and is now medically known as Type 1 diabetes (T1D), impacting all ages and stages of life.

With over 20 years of experience developing and acquiring nearly $3 billion in residential, multifamily and retail projects, Blue River Development's achievements are driven by its ability to provide and catalog the most up-to-date market intel, execute on that data and maintain accountability to clients and investors.
