Atlanta Crowned Most Affordable City for Remote Workers

Working remotely comes with many benefits, and one in particular is the possibility to move to a city that’s affordable while also offering a high quality of life. Nationally, Atlanta offers remote workers the best bang for their buck – a high quality of life without the hefty price tag.
CoworkingCafe researchers analyzed the largest U.S. cities across 15 key metrics ranging from cost of living and median income, to share of teleworkers, among others, in order to identify the most affordable U.S. cities for remote workers.
Here’s what pushed Atlanta to the top:

Atlanta is home to many teleworkers, with almost a third of its workforce operating remotely.

The median income in Atlanta is $54,930 and the unemployment rate 4.8%.

Atlanta has the highest coworking space density in the nation – 24 spaces per 100,000 people – and a total of 118 spaces.

With great internet connectivity, Atlanta ranks fifth nationwide for public Wi-Fi density with 150 hotspots per 100,000 people. The two airports in the area grant the city another fifth rank in our analysis.

Atlanta has 679 entertainment establishments per 100,000 people – the sixth most in the U.S.
