The Gwinnett Chamber Board of Directors unanimously approved its support for the 2024 Gwinnett Transit SPLOST set to appear on the November 5 ballot. Earlier this month, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted to include the Transit SPLOST in the general election. The plan aims to strengthen existing public transit services, including countywide micro transit coverage, improved bus routes, and direct shuttle service to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

“The Gwinnett Chamber has been a long-time supporter of enhancing our public transit system to better connect people to their jobs, businesses, services, and recreational activities,” said Trey Ragsdale, Public Affairs for Kaiser Permanente and Gwinnett Chamber Board’s Vice Chair of Public Policy. “This plan will drive economic development attracting and retaining businesses and a growing workforce.”

Gwinnett Chamber President & CEO Nick Masino added, “I want to thank the board for its visionary leadership that recognizes the importance of connectivity and mobility to the growth of our business community in Gwinnett.”

The Transit SPLOST delivers 100% countywide microtransit coverage, addressing last-mile connectivity challenges. It is successfully operating in the Lawrenceville and Snellville areas. The plan, comprised of 75 projects, was approved by the Atlanta-region Transit Link (ATL) Authority.
