As the back-to-school countdown begins, Lenox Square is teaming up with Sarah Smith Elementary for a school supplies drive to prepare students and teachers for their return to the classroom. From now through August 10, shoppers can donate full-size backpacks, Kleenex boxes, Clorox wipes, 12-pack Crayola colored pencils, 24-pack Crayola crayons, 12-pack Crayola washable markers, No. 2 pencils and glue sticks.

Items will be donated to Friends Helping Friends and can be dropped in contribution bins throughout Lenox Square and at the property’s Management Office, located on the Market Level near the Dining Pavilion restrooms.

“The first day of school is an exciting time for families and students alike,” said Lenox Square’s General Manager Robin Suggs. “Lenox Square prioritizes the education of our youth, and we are delighted to partner with Friends Helping Friends to support students’ academic achievement at Sarah Smith Elementary.”

Friends Helping Friends is a community initiative at Sarah Smith Elementary that supports students with volunteer opportunities for both parents and children.

“It is imperative that all students in our school community are able to thrive, both in and out of the classroom,” said Stephanie Wall Morrow, President of Friends Helping Friends. "Thanks to Lenox Square, we are setting children up with more than just school supplies. We are creating a lasting impact for kids who are learning about how a community can come together to care for one another.”

Part of Atlanta Public Schools, Sarah Smith Elementary is a neighborhood school serving students in grades K-5 residing in North Buckhead, Buckhead Forest and areas of Pine Hills and Brookhaven within Atlanta city limits.
