The American Heart Association, a global force for healthier lives for all, announced new leadership and members for its 2024-25 Metro Atlanta board of directors.

Dr. Divya Gupta M.D., heart failure and transplantation cardiologist of Emory Healthcare, will serve as board president alongside chairperson, Scott Webb, vice president, account services, Pointnext Technology Services at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

“I’m honored to serve in this role as we boldly step into our second century of advancing health and hope for everyone, everywhere,” said Gupta. “This board is committed to identifying and removing barriers to health care access and quality because 10 miles shouldn’t create a 12-year difference in life expectancy.”

New board members include board chairperson-elect Tracy Pitcher, senior vice president of Comcast Business Central Division; Ken Morge, senior vice president and treasurer of Delta Air Lines; and Kevin Stoneham, chief information officer of King & Spalding.

Returning board members include Scott Webb, Hewlett Packard Enterprise; Karen Bennett, Cox Enterprises; Stephanie Blank; community volunteer; Marcus Brown, M.D., Northside Hospital Heart Institute; Kathleen Eidbo, Genuine Parts Company; Natalie Hernandez-Green, Morehouse School of Medicine; Veronica Maldonado-Torres, Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; Beth Reese, Southern Company and Rita Treadwell, Greenberg Traurig.

“As we celebrate 100 years of lifesaving work, I am deeply honored to serve as the board chairperson for the American Heart Association in metro Atlanta,” said Webb. “The Association’s mission to save lives and promote heart health is more crucial than ever, and I look forward to working with this dedicated team to make a lasting impact in our community.”

The Metro Atlanta American Heart Association serves 11 counties within the metro area and surrounding communities. Through their collective reach, these volunteers will lead the organization in pursuit of its mission of being a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives with a focus of controlling high blood pressure, eliminating tobacco/vaping usage, addressing nutrition security, CPR education and reducing women’s heart health risks.
