Connell Cummings Partner and Co-Founder Earns Statewide Recognition for Professionalism in Family Law

Connell Cummings is pleased to announce that its partner and co-founder Leigh F. Cummings was recently honored with the State Bar of Georgia’s Joseph T. Tuggle, Jr. Professionalism Award, presented by the organization’s Family Law Section. The recognition is given annually to a lawyer or judge who has most exemplified the aspirational qualities of professionalism in their practice.

Connell, partner and co-founder at Connell Cummings. “Professionalism is defined as ‘conducting oneself with responsibility, integrity, accountability, and excellence,’ all traits that describe Leigh’s approach to advocating for her clients. We are grateful for her leadership and commitment to Georgia’s family law practice.”
Cummings adds the Joseph T. Tuggle, Jr. Professionalism Award to other accolades earned over her 22-year career. She is recognized annually by Super Lawyers as a leader in family law and among the “Top Women Attorneys in Georgia.” Georgia Trend has honored her with its “Legal Elite” award. She is a past recipient of the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers’ Division Award for Achievement for Outstanding Service to the Public.
Cummings is passionate about the practice of family law and serves as a leader in organizations that influence this area of law in Georgia. She is an active member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Family Law Section and the Young Lawyers Division, of which she previously chaired the Family Law Committee. She is a former board member and Program Chair for the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law American Inn of Court. Cummings volunteers each year to grade law students’ bar exams.
Cummings earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1997 and her J.D. from Georgia State University in 2002.
