Today, the Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena announced that Andrew Saltzman has been promoted to President of Business Enterprise & Chief Commercial Officer. In his new role as President of Business Enterprise & Chief Commercial Officer, Saltzman will add the responsibilities of unlocking new commercial opportunities and driving enterprise value through new strategic integrations, partnerships, and service agreements. With the Centennial Yards downtown district launching in 2025, and major events such as the upcoming 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship and the FIFA World Cup 2026, Saltzman will lead this new revenue vertical and build a team to capitalize on the red-hot live experience sector, including the creation of owned and operated future events, such as the first-ever Bud Light Super Bowl Music Festival held at State Farm Arena prior to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.

Additionally, he will now oversee Hawks Ventures, the organization’s mission-driven venture fund committed to funding minority-led/underrepresented startups and finding strategic investments that can benefit the Hawks and/or State Farm Arena businesses.

“Andrew has played a crucial role in the success of the Hawks & State Farm Arena for the past nine years, helping grow our brand in the market and our reputation nationally as an organization that delivers positive results for our partners and the community. With the continued growth of downtown Atlanta and the number of transformative projects and events scheduled to take place over the next decade, there is an incredible opportunity ahead of us to generate revenue in new and unique ways. Andrew - with his robust network, creative and strategic thinking, and love for Atlanta - is certainly the right person to steward this rapidly evolving part of our business,” Hawks & State Farm Arena President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Koonin said.

Hired in 2015 as Executive Vice President & Chief Revenue Officer, Saltzman successfully implemented a new sales and service strategy aimed at maximizing revenue and leveraging premium spaces and hospitality while integrating technology, community impact, and sustainability for the Atlanta Hawks, State Farm Arena, and the club's affiliate properties, the College Park Skyhawks of the NBA G League and Hawks Talon Gaming Club of the NBA 2K League.  Under his leadership, the organization steadily increased overall revenue, leading to four consecutive seasons as one of the top 10 grossing franchises in the league.

“Having been involved in the local sports market since I moved to Atlanta 27 years ago, working for the Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena for the past nine years has been a dream come true. Tony Ressler and Steve Koonin have provided us with the vision and resources to build a world-class franchise. They’ve made the Hawks a true civic asset and I am thrilled to be able to play a continued role in our growth,” Saltzman said.

Saltzman has given back to the local community by serving on several boards, including the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta Sports Council, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta.  A native of New York City and a graduate of Georgetown University, he and his wife reside in Atlanta and have two sons.
