Using data from Vio.com and TripAdvisor, we uncovered where ghostly encounters are more likely and which hotels are buzzing with eerie activity. Whether you’re drawn to spooky vibes or just curious about haunted history, these cities top the list for a hair-raising getaway.

  • Savannah, Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland; Orlando, Florida; San Antonio, Texas; and New Orleans, Louisiana, are the cities with the most haunted hotels 

    • Atlanta has the 61st most haunted hotels in the U.S. 

  • Savannah and Orlando have the highest percentage of hotels considered haunted or paranormal (12.7%)

  • For every 1,000 guests staying in Savannah, 2.16 mentioned haunted activity, and 4.39 mention paranormal activity 

  • More than 1 guest in every 200 staying in Orlando, Florida, mentioned haunted activity.

  • 1 guest in every 200 staying in Baltimore, Maryland, mentioned paranormal activity.

  • Savannah, Georgia, and Orlando, Florida, had the highest percentage of hotels considered haunted or paranormal (12.7%).

  • On average, haunted hotels (7.7 out of 10) are rated lower than non-haunted hotels (8.1).

  • On average, haunted hotels ($235) are cheaper to book per night than non-haunted hotels ($241).
