Brandywine Cares Receives Bank of America Grant for Small Business Program

Brandywine Cares announced it has received a $25,000 grant from Bank of America to help its small business initiative, theCareerShift:$mall Business Boot Camp. This grant will provide vital resources for the fall session starting today, October 9, 2024, empowering aspiring entrepreneurs in Atlanta to launch and grow their businesses.

The CareerShift Boot Camp offers practical training and connections to local business leaders, focusing on essential topics such as business plan development, marketing strategies, and funding strategies. 

Additionally, participants will gain valuable introductions to bankers, digital marketers, and local government officials, who will guide them through key steps like registering as a minority-owned business and accessing government contracts. 

“Atlanta is consistently ranked as a top city for starting a business, and the city has experienced a significant boom in entrepreneurship, particularly post-pandemic,” said Heidi Coppola, managing director, Brandywine Cares. “This grant from Bank of America will enable us to meet the growing demand for our program and provide budding entrepreneurs with the tools they need to thrive.” 

Brandywine Cares remains committed to its mission of fostering economic mobility through its Entrepreneurship Boot Camps, which equips individuals from several backgrounds—including adults transitioning from traditional jobs, veterans, and youth—with the skills and support to pursue entrepreneurial success. The program also offers referrals to ongoing coaching and access to resources to ensure participants' long-term growth.
