Feeding Georgia announced recently that Moore Colson, an award-winning accounting and advisory firm in Atlanta, won the Large Firm category in the 11th annual Georgia Accounting Food Fight. The two-week competition, sponsored by The Georgia Society of CPAs and Feeding Georgia, brings together accounting professionals across Georgia to raise funds for the state’s nine regional food banks. According to GSCPA and Feeding Georgia, the Georgia Accounting Food Fight raised $347,591, equivalent to nearly 1.4 million meals for the food banks in 2024. Since the first Food Fight in 2014, accounting professionals have raised $2,507,682, equivalent to 10,030,726 meals.

During the friendly two-week competition, accounting professionals statewide competed to earn points by raising funds for Feeding Georgia. The Food Fight also helped restock the food banks after the summer surge they experienced due to the conclusion of the school year and school lunch assistance programs. Feeding Georgia presented awards to accounting professionals in several categories, including Grand Prize Food Fight Hero, Grand Prize Hunger Champion, Big 4, Large Firm, Medium Firm, Small Firm, Industry and Sole Proprietor.

Moore Colson raised $32,601.50 for Feeding Georgia, ranking Moore Colson number one in Georgia in the Large Firm category for Most Points Overall. This year is the firm’s 10th consecutive win in the Large Firm category.

"Moore Colson is dedicated to making a positive impact on the well-being of our community. Our goal is to combat food insecurity and empower individuals and families across Georgia," stated Jon Powell, Moore Colson partner. "Winning the Large Firm category in the Georgia Accounting Food Fight demonstrates our firm's unwavering commitment to eradicating hunger. Each meal we contribute brings us closer to building a stronger, more resilient Georgia."
