Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers LLP has once again been recognized for its efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion with its second consecutive Midsize Mansfield Certification. Following completion of a rigorous 12-month collaboration with Diversity Lab, Swift Currie joins a class of 360 midsize firms awarded the designation in 2024, and the firm was also among the approximately 182 firms to achieve the more rigorously-earned Midsize Mansfield Certified Plus status.

“We are thrilled to once again receive the Midsize Mansfield Certification Plus, as it further demonstrates our ongoing efforts toward diversity, equity and inclusion within our firm,” said the firm’s Chief of Diversity, Martine Cumbermack. “At Swift Currie, our diverse leadership teams are integral to our success and the quality of our client service. We are proud to be a leading firm in DEI efforts and will persist in prioritizing diversity efforts as our firm continues to grow.”

The Mansfield Rule Certification, developed by Diversity Lab, is a prestigious distinction awarded to law firms that demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Through a comprehensive evaluation process, Swift Currie has exceeded the requirements for recognition as a Midsize Mansfield Certified Law Firm and joins a select group of organizations dedicated to advancing DEI initiatives in the legal industry with the distinction of “Plus” for the second year in a row.

Certification Plus indicates that Swift Currie has ensured that at least 30% of leadership roles are held by  women, minorities, members of LGBTQ+ community and lawyers with disabilities through the development of diverse pools of outside applicants and lateral hires. The firm has not just increased diversity in their consideration of candidates for recruitment and promotion, but effectively increased diversity in leadership roles.

The collaboration with Diversity Lab involved meticulous analysis of Swift Currie’s recruitment, hiring, retention and promotion practices with an emphasis on underrepresented groups. The firm’s commitment to DEI was evaluated against measurable goals, ensuring that it met the stringent standards set by the Mansfield Rule Certification Plus program.

“Diversity Lab has helped promote DEI efforts in our industry and set a standard with the Midsize Mansfield Certification,” said Mike Rosetti, managing partner of Swift Currie. “We continuously strive to meet the bar that they have set and our Chief of Diversity, Martine Cumbermack, does an exceptional job creating pathways to a more diverse and inclusive firm.”

The Midsize Mansfield Certification Plus highlights Swift Currie’s ongoing pursuit of diversity and inclusive culture, both within the firm and the legal community at large. The firm stresses the importance of increasing diversity in leadership roles and attracting, retaining and promoting a diverse group of exceptional legal professionals dedicated to client service.

Under the leadership of Chief of Diversity Martine Cumbermack and the firm’s Diversity Committee, Swift Currie engages in several initiatives to promote DEI awareness in recruiting, in the community and within the firm. These include participation in on-campus interviews and the Southeastern Minority Job Fair to recruit qualified students from underrepresented backgrounds, support of local and national affinity groups through sponsorship and participation, involvement with the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program as an active Steering Committee member, participation and sponsorship of the State Bar of Georgia Diversity Program’s High School Pipeline Program, being a Corporate Work Study Partner with Cristo Rey Atlanta and more.
